HOP PICKING
TO THE BREWERY
Loading hop pockets into a goods wagon
This
shows the hop pockets being loaded into a goods wagon at Bodiam Station
for transportation to the Park Royal Brewery in London. These
pockets are clearly marked as 1945 and from Bodiam. The NH2
at the bottom indicates they came from No. 2 oast at New House Farm.
Note the "ears" at the top of the pocket which helps to give
something to grip on when handling the pockets.
